New Start Community Development (NSCD) is a Community Development Entity (CDE) as registered and recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Treasury. As a result, NSCD is allowed to accept and receive New Market Tax Credits allocations in order to invest in underserved communities in qualified census tracts. In addition to this distinct difference in our development entity, NSCD uses a multitude of tax and financing instruments to gap finance to assist difficult projects to achieve completion. Some of these tools involve: EB-5 funding (have applied to be registered as a Regional Center in Alabama); Historic Tax Credits; Rural Investment Credits; Go-Zone Incentives; Enterprise Zone advantages; Federal Trade Zone designation advantages; Low Income Tax Credits for multi-family housing and Choice Neighborhood programs through HUD to help create mix-use developments. NSCD coordinates communications and applications involving all entities whether they be local, state or federal for the betterment of the project.
